    June 11, 1949 - October 1, 2020

PEABODY- W. Michael Harron, 71, passed away on October 1, 2020 at Brooksby Village following a lengthy illness. Born in Winchester on June 11, 1949, he was the son of the late William and Lois (Weigmann) Harron. Michael was raised and educated in Reading and graduated from Reading High School in 1967. He received his bachelor’s degree from UMass, Boston. Mike had a long career with Moynihan Lumber. He also volunteered for many years at the Me and Thee Coffee House in Marblehead where he served in a range of roles from kitchen helper to sound mixer to announcer. He enjoyed bicycling, sports, and gardening. He was also an avid reader. Mike was known for his dry sense of humor, his quick wit and his prodigious memory for detail which made him a master of trivia. He collected an extensive library of books on a wide range of topics from art and history to politics and poetry and fiction and philosophy. And he read them. He was passionate about music and collected records and CDs in many genres beginning in his teen years. He is survived by his siblings, Meredith Harron of Somerville and Kevin Harron and his wife, Kim Brown of Gloucester, his nephew Nicholas Harron and his wife Kara of N. Reading, three great nephews, Owen, Nolan and Logan, cousins, Linda Wood of RI and Erika and Daniel Wood, both of NY and Laurel McDermod of Wakefield, and many loyal friends. Due to the pandemic regulations his services are private. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in Mikes name to Parkinson’s Foundation, 200 SE 1st St., Suite 800, Miami, FL, 33131 or the Me and Thee Coffee House, c/o Unitarian Universalist Church, 28 Mugford St, Marblehead, MA, 01945.
