Virginia R. (Wendell) Innis, 83, died Wednesday, October 31, 2018 at her home following a lengthy illness. She was the wife of the late Donald F. Innis, Jr. Born in Peabody on July 6, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Helen (MacDonald) Wendell. Ginny was a longtime Danvers resident and a member of the Elm Club. She loved being around friends and family and was always the life of the party. She leaves a daughter, Cheryl Innis and her husband Ricky Harris of Somers, CT, two grandchildren, Caitlyn Innis and Donald F. Innis, IV, a great-grandson, Aiden Donald Innis, and many nieces and nephews. She also leaves four dear friends and caregivers, Michelle and Ali Sweeney, Tracy McNichol, and Michael Benedetto. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her son, Donald F. Innis, III, her mother and father-in-law, Donald F. and Elizabeth (Mannix) Innis, and her brothers and sisters. Her Funeral Service will be Thursday, November 15, 2018 at 10AM in C.R. Lyons & Sons Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers Square. Burial will follow in Wadsworth Cemetery, Danvers. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours are Wednesday from 4-7PM. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ginny’s name may be made to the Joe Harrod Memorial Scholarship, making checks payable to the American Hackney Horse Society Foundation, c/o Taylor Gregory, American Hackney Horse Society, 4059 Iron Works Pkwy, A-3, Lexington, KY 40511, noting Joe Harrod Memorial in the memo line, or to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis TN 38105.
