Stephen W. Sidmore, 69, died Friday, May 22, 2020 at Beverly Hospital following a brief illness. He was the loving husband of Jude (Greenlaw) Sidmore. Steve graduated from Danvers High School in 1969 and remained close friends with many of his classmates over the years. He was a proud sales representative for G and M Supply Corp for thirty-five years and shared a special friendship with his boss and best friend, Mark Meyer, and his family. Steve and his son, Garrett, had a special bond that helped them realize later in life that they were exactly alike. They would drive off together on an adventure, music blaring, bopping to the tunes, watching the sunset and enjoying their special away-time together. Through memories that have been made throughout the years it is a bond that will never be broken. Steve adored his grandchildren, Ophelia and Arlo, and their mom, Julie Wolf. He enjoyed his Sunday night phone calls with them to catch up on their swimming and soccer achievements but before ending their call he would excitedly surprise them with a “Pop Quiz!” He will always be so proud of Arlo and Ophelia, he loved them so much. Steve cherished family and was such a gentle, wonderful man who was loved by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. He had a special connection with his sisters-in-law, his brothers-in-law, and each of his nieces and nephews, as well as his “partner-in-crime, Uncle Bob.” His greatest memory was attending Woodstock and making sure that Garrett understood that he went for the music and did not indulge in any of the extracurricular activity going on around him. Garrett’s response would always be, “Of course you didn’t, Dad.” Steve leaves his wife of forty-six years, Jude, his devoted and loving son, Garrett, his grandchildren, Ophelia and Arlo, their mother, Julie Wolf, his sister Nancy Ambrose and her husband Dave and their family. He was predeceased by his twin brother, Mark, and his parents Richard and Thelma Sidmore. Jude and Garrett would like to thank his oncologist, Dr. Yunus and his entire team. Every one of them treated Steve as though he was a part of their family and he felt that he was so special and important. His radiology team run by Dr. Wong. They were all so kind and compassionate to him. His cardiologist Dr Francis Cleary. Without Dr. Cleary’s knowledge and friendship, we would not have enjoyed Steve for as song as we were able. Our final thanks goes to Steve’s physical therapist, Abra Lembo, who was 100% devoted to Steve and always went above and beyond for us. Steve always looked forward to her visits and she will always have a special place in our hearts. Thanks to everyone for their support and love. It was appreciated more than you will ever know. “The woods are lovely, dark, and deep But I have promises to keep, And miles to go before I sleep. And miles to go before I sleep.” Sleep well, Dad. You’ve earned it.
