Shirley D. (Phinney) Fraizer, 87, died Monday evening, December 19, 2016 at Beverly Hospital. She was the wife of John J. Fraizer, with whom she shared sixty-six years of marriage. Born on Feb. 13, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Maurice and Emma Phinney. She was raised and educated in Danvers and was a graduate of Holten High School. Shirley owned and operated a custom drapery business, Needle & Thread, until the time of her retirement. She also taught sewing at the Essex Agricultural School and out of her home. She and her husband were members of the Catholic Mr. & Mrs. Club for many years. Shirley enjoyed gardening and was a former member of the Danvers Garden Club. She loved cooking and entertaining her family. In addition to her husband, she leaves three children and their spouses, Bob and Paulette Fraizer of Beverly, Andrea and James Cutter of Danvers, and David and Patricia Fraizer of Danvers, and five grandchildren, Andrew, Alex, Alison, and Nick Cutter and Daniel Fraizer. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, December 23, 2016 at 9AM in Saint Mary of the Annunciation Church, 24 Conant St., Danvers. Burial will follow in Annunciation Cemetery, Danvers. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours are Thursday from 4-7PM in C.R. Lyons & Sons Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers Square.
