SWAMPSCOTT- Sheila B. MacDonald, 47, passed away on September 23, 2019 in Salem Hospital. Born in Salem on November 26, 1971, she was the daughter of Bernice (Neilson) MacDonald of Lynnfield and the late Francis MacDonald. In her early years, Sheila attended early intervention at Hogan Regional Center. She received special education services through the Seem Collaborative in Lynnfield and graduated from Masconomet High School in 1993. After graduation she attended Bridgewell-sponsored workshops in Medford and Stoneham. She also worked at the Holiday Inn and Gordon College with the help of Bridgewell support staff. More recently she had been a resident at Bridgewell in Swampscott. Sheila always had something in her hands. She especially loved carrying baby dolls and crayons. As a young girl she enjoyed playing with her imaginary friend. She also enjoyed trips to Disney World, helping with kitchen chores, dancing, and listening to music. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her siblings, David R. MacDonald and his wife, Ilene of Beverly, and Jeanette M. MacDonald of Sarasota, Florida; a niece and nephew, Bethany and Kevin MacDonald of Beverly; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins, as well as her extended family and loving staff at Bridgewell. She was predeceased by her brothers, Stephen and Brian MacDonald. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10AM on Monday, September 30, 2019 in Saint Maria Goretti Church, 112 Chestnut St, Lynnfield. Burial will follow in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Lake St, Peabody. Visitation will be held from 4-7PM Sunday at C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers. In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made to Bridgewell in Sheila’s memory to support activities at her former residential home.
