Mary A. Zaki Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

BEVERLY- Mary A. (Hubbard) Zaki, 92, passed away on April 20, 2022, following a brief illness. Born in Salem on June 9, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Arthur Russell and Anna (Mooney) Hubbard. She was raised and educate in both Salem and Beverly, graduating from Beverly High School. Mary attended college in St. Louis, Missouri and earned a master’s degree in art and also in English as a second language. She began her teaching career at the American School in Cairo, Egypt. When she returned to the states, Mary worked in the library’s research department at the former Boston Company. Mary was also an extremely talented photographer. She would most often be seen with her camera taking photos of architecture, animals and nature. After retiring, Mary volunteered at Bevcam as a photographer. She later volunteered as a greeter at the Beverly City Hall. Mary was a devoted Catholic and churchgoer. She was a positive person and had a wonderful attitude toward life. She was a true friend of the earth and had a most genuine love for all living things. She is survived by her cousins, Diane Flanders and Sandy Atwood, both of Beverly and several other cousins, her former husband and friend, Bassem Zaki and dear friend Kathy Sorenson-Orechia of Peabody. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11AM on Wednesday, April 27, 2022, in Saint Mary of the Annunciation Church, 24 Conant St., Danvers. Burial will follow in Saint Mary Cemetery, Salem. Visitation will be held on Wednesday prior to the Mass from 10AM-10:45AM at C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers.
