Lucille A. (Dionne) Fortier, 85, died early Monday morning, March 26, 2018 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House. She was the wife of the late Edward H. Fortier. Born in Salem on July 2, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Jean and Edith (Talbot) Dionne. She was raised and educated in Salem and was a graduate of St. Joseph Academy. Lucille was employed until the time of her retirement as an x-ray technician at the former J.B. Thomas Hospital in Peabody. A longtime Danvers resident who was affectionately called “Hon” by her loving family, she was a parishioner of Saint Richard Church and a daily communicant of Saint Mary of the Annunciation Church. Lucille was an avid reader of history and a member of the Danvers Historical Society and the Polish Club. She was happy to be able attend her grandson’s wedding in June, but most of all, Lucille enjoyed holidays with her family and spending time with her grandchildren. Lucille leaves a daughter, Leslie Fortier of Danvers, a daughter-in-law, Suzanne Morrison and her husband Dwight of Danvers, two grandsons, Scott Jeffrey Fortier and Christopher Scott Morrison, and a sister, Jean Hogan of Danvers. She was predeceased by her son, Scott Fortier. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, April 2, 2018 at 9AM in Saint Mary of the Annunciation Church, 24 Conant St., Danvers. Burial will follow in Saint Mary Cemetery, Salem. Relatives and friends are invited. As requested, there are no visiting hours. In lieu of flowers, donations in Lucille’s name may be made to the Scott E. Fortier Scholarship Fund, Saint John’s Preparatory School, 72 Spring St., Danvers, MA 01923. Arrangements are by C.R.
