Jean A. Donahue, 82, died Sunday, Sept. 16, 2018 following a period of declining health. She was the loving wife of the late William G. Donahue, with whom she shared sixty years of marriage. Born in Boston on Feb. 5, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Sture and Helen (Cooney) Engstrom. She was raised and educated in Swampscott and was a graduate of Swampscott High School. She later graduated from the Katherine Gibbs School. For many years, Jean was employed as the office manager with the McGinn Bus Company. She enjoyed travel, especially organizing group trips to New York City, Montreal, and Niagara Falls. Trips to Hawaii were also special to her. Devoted to family, Jean was a dedicated grandmother who loved caring for her grandchildren. She leaves her children, Kelly Donahue of Hawaii, Michael Donahue of Hawaii, Kathleen Kelly and her husband David of Danvers, and James Donahue and his wife Kristine of Danvers, her grandchildren, Daniel McKenna and his wife Crystal, Michael McKenna and his wife Gaby, Conor, Devlyn, and Kaelyn Kelly, Ryan Farley, and Amanda Donahue, her great-grandchildren, Liam, Bentley, Nathan, and Madilyn, two sisters, Barbara Webster and Sandra Buck, a brother, Steve Engstrom, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her beloved son, Timothy Donahue, and her brother, John Engstrom. Her Funeral Service will be Friday, September 21, 2018 at 11AM in C.R. Lyons & Sons Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers Square. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours are Thursday from 4-7PM. Burial will be private.
