DANVERS- David L. Dyer, 76, died unexpectedly on February 1, 2016 at Massachusetts General Hospital surrounded by his devoted family. He was the loving husband of Marie E. (Juliano) Dyer, with whom he shared 51 years of marriage. Born in Beverly on January 6, 1940, he was the son of the late Edgar and Mary (McCarthy) Dyer. He was raised and educated in Danvers and graduated from Holten High School. David had been a supervisor of shipping and receiving, first with North America Phillips for 35 years, and later with Filene’s Basement. David loved spending time with his family, and was a devoted father and grandfather. He enjoyed reading, gardening, the beach, discussing politics and history, driving and showing his 1971 Pontiac Convertible, and was an avid Boston sports fan. In addition to his wife, Marie, he is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Elisa and Eric Sanders of Bradford; his son, David “D.J.” Dyer of Beverly; his sister, Liz Dyer of Danvers; his cherished grandsons, John and Christopher Sanders; several nieces and nephews, and his beloved dog, Bella. His Funeral Service will be celebrated at 11AM on Saturday, February 6, 2016 at C.R. Lyons & Sons Funeral Home, 28 Elm St., Danvers. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Winchester. Visiting hours are Friday from 4-7PM at C.R. Lyons & Sons, 28 Elm St., Danvers. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Northeast Animal Shelter, 347 Highland Ave, Salem, MA, 01970.
