October 6, 1963 - December 28, 2021
Daniel J. Creeden, 58, passed away Tuesday morning, December 28, 2021 following a lengthy illness. Born in Danvers on Oct. 6, 1963, he was the beloved and devoted son of John and Anne (Crowley) Creeden of Danvers. He was raised and educated in Danvers and was a 1981 graduate of Danvers High School. He attended University of Rochester and Northeastern University. A longtime Beverly resident, Dan co-founded and operated Tapas Corner on Cabot Street in Beverly. Customers particularly loved the coffee and burritos at Tapas. In and out of the restaurant he was able to put friends, customers, and strangers at ease with his warm and easy-going personality. He loved his Beverly friends and community. Dan enjoyed food in every way. He especially loved creating and cooking up new dishes for friends and family, sometimes even late at night, after Tapas closed and friends would gather around the kitchen. He later brought his culinary expertise to the prepared foods department at McKinnon’s Market in Danvers. Dan enjoyed listening to music and loved to write. He followed the news and had many conversations about current events with his mom. He was an accomplished pool player, participating in leagues and tournaments throughout the North Shore area. He was an avid sports fan and followed all types of sports. In addition to his parents, he leaves a brother David Creeden and sister-in-law Rosa Casado, a sister Jane Simmons, her husband David and niece Caroline all of Middleton, and former wife and dear friend Shellie Walsh of Beverly. Dan very much loved his rescue dog Polly who he adopted with Shellie. Memorial services will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Daniel’s memory may be made to the Beverly Bootstraps Community Services, 35 Park St., Beverly, MA 01915. Arrangements are by C.R.
