Carolyn S. Dabose, 73, of Danversport, died peacefully on Wednesday, January 13, 2016, in the loving comfort of her family, after an extended battle with cancer. Carolyn was the daughter of the late Andrew and Sophie (Makowiecki) Dabose of Danversport. She was born at the “old” Hunt Hospital in Danvers and was a graduate of Holten High School, Class of 1961. She became an accountant after attending Burdett College and was the payroll clerk for several years at the “new” Hunt Hospital on Lindall Hill. Carolyn worked for various other businesses in the area in accounting. After retirement, she continued working part time at Stop and Shop in Danvers. Carolyn was active in town affairs, being elected as a Town Meeting Member from Precinct III for three years, serving with her father, sister, and brother-in-law, all from the same precinct. She loved to travel, swim, dance, and be with her family at the family compound in Standish, Maine. Carolyn was always the life of the party. She is survived by her sisters, Andrea J. Daley and her husband Michael of Danvers, Diane Dabose-O’Connell and her former husband Brian O’Connell of Florida, her brother, Paul Dabose and his wife Laura of Florida, her cousins Shirley Yarosh and her husband Jerry, Renne Nowack, and Joan Peters of Salem, Robert Makowiecki of Georgetown, Fred Jordan, Ed Jordan and his wife Charlotte of Danversport, her beloved nephews, Michael Daley, Jr., Douglas Daley, and Andrew-John O'Connell, her loving companion Norman Legro of Danvers, her supportive neighbors, Jose and Jane Milanes, Karen Rowan, Fern Leck, Danny Puleo, Mark Puleo, Kevin Brophy and Barbara Remon of Danvers, Theresa Haywood of Beverly, and her supportive and caring friend, Loretta Bergesen, NP. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, January 19, 2016 at 11AM in Saint Mary of the Annunciation Church, 24 Conant St., Danvers. Burial will follow in Saint Mary Cemetery, Salem. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours are Monday from 3-5PM in C.R. Lyons & Sons Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers Square. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Carolyn’s name to the Danvers People-to-People Food Pantry, PO Box 2076, Danvers, MA 01923.
