The arrangement conference typically lasts 1- 1 ½ hours. It is the time to make decisions about the funeral services. During this time, we will gather the information needed to obtain the necessary paperwork, collect the information that you would like placed in the obituary, and answer any questions you may have.

While it is certainly possible to complete most of the arrangements for a funeral without the following information, the funeral home will need it to complete the arrangements:

	Social Security Number
	Date and place of birth
	The names of the deceased's parents (including mother's maiden name) and the state of country of their birth
	A photograph
	If a veteran, copies of discharge papers
	If available, cemetery plot paperwork
	The clothing: Typically, for a woman this would include an outfit with a high neck line and long sleeves, a slip or camisole, underpants and stockings or socks. A bra and shoes are optional. For a man, this would usually include a long sleeve shirt, tie, sport or suit jacket, long pants, underpants, undershirt, socks. Shoes and a belt are optional.
