GIRARD, MILDRED -- Mildred M. (Rackliff) Girard, 84, died early Wednesday morning, May 28, 2008 at the Kindred Hospital in Peabody. She was the wife of the late Conde “Jerry” Girard.

Born in Danvers on June 15, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Laura (Ouimette) Rackliff. She was raised and educated in Danvers and was a graduate of Holten High School, Class of 1941.

For several years, Mildred was employed at Sylvania.

A longtime Danvers resident, she was a parishioner of St. Mary of the Annunciation Church. As a homemaker she was an accomplished gardener and enjoyed knitting and crosswords.

She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Ann Girard of Danvers; nine grandchildren: Todd and David Girard, Billy, Ricky, and Terry Charland, Debbie, David, Dylan and Linda Girard, and Sherry Lubas; two sisters and their husbands: Beverly and Robert Ogiba of Danvers and Barbara and Robert Gauthier of Peabody; several great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and several nieces and nephews.

Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday at 9AM in St. Mary of the Annunciation Church, 24 Conant St., Danvers. Burial will follow in Annunciation Cemetery, Danvers. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours are Friday from 5-8PM at C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers Square.
