BEGG (LASKI), JOSPEHINE-- OF HAMILTON- Josephine (Laski) Begg, 97, died Aug. 14, 2008 following a lengthy illness. She was the wife of the late Arthur Begg.
Born in Hamilton on Jan. 25, 1911, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Josie (Robitski)Laski. She was raised and educated in Hamilton and graduated from Hamilton High School. She was also a graduate from Burdett College. Mrs. Begg started her career at the Hamilton Post Office but was primarily employed as a clerk in the South Hamilton Post Office. She also spent many years volunteering at the Christ Church thrift store in Hamilton. Mrs. Begg enjoyed summers with her family at the beach in Seabrook, New Hampshire and winters in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law Barbara and George Papamechail of Peabody, three grandchildren, Mark Papamechail of Peabody, Melissa Foley of North Carolina and Neil Arthur Papamechail of Peabody and two great grandchildren Kira Foley and Alexis Papamechail. She was predeceased by two brothers, William and Edward Laski.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9AM in the Church of St. Paul, Hamilton on Monday, Aug. 18, 2008. Visiting hours are Sunday from 4:00PM-6:00PM at C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers. Relatives and friends are invited. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Josephine's name to the Hospice of the North Shore, 75 Sylvan St. Suite B-102, Danvers, MA 01923.
