LARRABEE, LORRAINE "LORI" - of Chelmsford, formerly of Danvers, Lorraine "Lori" V. (Ouimette) Larrabee passed away on Oct. 15, 2008, following a brief illness. She was married for 51 years to her beloved John Larrabee, who passed away in 1993.
Born in Danvers on March 15, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Amie and Lillian (LaBelle) Ouimette. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law Judith and Geoff Bryant of Chelmsford, three grandchildren, Chris, Katie and Daniel, siblings, Charlotte DeBie of Danvers, Pauline Lewis of Beverly and Mickey Ouimette of Danvers, several nieces and nephews, many friends along with her dear church family from Central Congregational Church in Chelmsford. She was predeceased by siblings, Dot Young, Pat Ouimette, and Honey and Fern Ouimette.
Aside from being an active member of her church, some of her favorite things to do were watching old episodes of MASH, spending time with friends who loved her, doing Crossword puzzles, reading the newspaper, taking scenic drives, reading novels and shopping. She especially loved her "girls' days out" with her daughter and granddaughter, her younger grandson's visits to talk and help her with the technological difficulties of her television and DVD player, and seeing her older grandson whenever he visited from California.
Lori lived in Danvers, MA for most of her life and worked for many of those years at the Corner Grocery Store on Hobart Street. She moved to Chelmsford in 2001 to be closer to her family.
A graveside service will be held on Mon., Oct. 20 at 9:30AM in Annunciation Cemetery, Hobart St., Danvers. A Memorial service will also be held Monday at 2PM in Central Congregational Church UCC, 1 Worthen St., Chelmsford. Vst. hrs are Sun. 3PM-5PM at C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Central Congregational Church, 1 Worthen St, Chelmsford, MA 01824.
